Oh,Gilbert Gottfried.I remember now.(My memory ain't what it used to be.)
Gilbert Gottfried is a comedian most notable for his voice,squinty eyes,stature,and rants.It's the stuff legends are made of,let me assure you.Although his unofficial bill is "Most Obnoxious Jew in the World",you'd probably recognize him as the man behind Iago,the parrot from Disney's Aladdin.
But let's start at the beginning.
Gilbert was born in Brooklyn,NYC,NY,USA,Earth,on Feb.28,1955.He was the youngest of three children and....that's about it.There's a reason why some people say he's the Norman Bates of comedians.Seriously,I can't find anything on this guy's childhood.Maybe he was raised by wolves or something.
Anyway,at age 15 he took he first shot at stand-up.It was a pretty well-aimed one.Other comedians heard and flocked to see him perform.
His first media exposure was on the 80-81 season of Saturday Night Live,which was,ahem,rather disasterous.The writers were totally inadequate,and the cast was fired.He then became a spokesperson for MTV,which was,according to him,his first real springboard to fame.
Since then,he's been in numerous movies and TV appearences(For more info,see the filmography page. Some of his memorable roles include Aladdin,Problem Child,Beverly Hills Cop 2,and Adventures of Ford Fairlane. He hosted USA's Up All Night(a show where cheesy movies are provided a safe place to play)for quite a while,and has starred in some HBO comedy specials(I have one on tape).Currently,he's a regular on Hollywood Squares.
